A US government agency has announced plans to spend $10 million to create a park for the visually impaired in the US, in a bid to improve access for the millions of people with disability living in the country.
The park, which will be located in South Carolina’s Piedmont region, will include a water feature and an observation deck, as well as a playground, swimming pool and a horse trail.
The funds will go towards funding additional facilities to improve accessibility and provide opportunities for people to participate in the park.
A number of groups, including the American Society of Civil Engineers and the National Federation of the Blind, have criticised the lack of funding in the past.
According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, around half of the US population lives in poverty.
In 2015, around 9% of the nation’s population was living with a disability.
For many, the lack for funding is a major source of frustration.
“I have been seeing a lot of people have issues with being able to walk up and down the stairs,” said Tanya Lewis, a retired teacher, in an interview with ABC News.
Lewis has lived in South Carolinas since she was 15.
She said that in the 1960s and 1970s, her family lived in a large home, and was not able to use the bathroom.
After a while, she said she could barely walk.
The family eventually moved to a new home, but it was still a big home, so she and her daughter used to be very limited in their mobility.
Now, with the help of her daughter, Lewis is able to be a part of the community.
A park “We want to be able to get in there, and see them,” Lewis said.
Her daughter is now a teacher at a school in Charleston, South Carolina, but Lewis said she is still unable to use her wheelchair.
But, she added, she is hoping that a large number of people can get in touch with their disability, and help improve their lives.
South Carolina has had a shortage of the type of amenities that are needed to enable people to engage in activities such as swimming, hiking and camping.
Last year, the state was ranked as the lowest in the nation for the number of adults with disabilities, according to the National Institute of Health.
In the past few years, the South Carolina Department of Social Services has made some progress.
In 2016, the department announced that the state will start providing free public restrooms for people who are visually impaired.
However, South Carolinians still have a long way to go to make it a reality.
“The only thing I can say is that it is going to take some work,” Ellen Meyer, the director of outreach for the state’s Department of Transportation, said.
The National Association of the Deaf (NAAD) has a website where you can find resources on the disability situation.
Mayer said the lack of funds has also been a big source of anger in the community, especially among people with children.
She said, “Some of the people that are deaf have said, ‘It’s too expensive.’
They don’t know what the budget is.
They just want the best for their children.”
But Lewis said she does not think the lack is that big of a deal.
“[It] just adds another dimension to the issue.
I think it’s a very complex issue and I think a lot needs to be done, and it’s just one more step to the solution.”
Lewis is hopeful that with the assistance of people like her daughter, the situation will change.
Read more about disabilities: In 2014, the US government launched a pilot project to fund a park for the visually-impaired.
The project was to be funded through a program called the Disability Assistance Program (DAP).
The DAP provides assistance to people with disabilities and people who live in rural areas.
In 2018, the Dap program announced that the US would increase its funding to $3.8 billion over the next five years.
That increase comes on top of the $1.4 billion dollars the government already had committed to the project in 2019.
To date, the DAP has provided $3.1 billion of funding to people with disabilities in the US over the past five years.
